Perhaps you’ve not heard the news recently, but we’ve made the grand decision to move back to the big smoke (Jo’burg...and I have no idea why they call it that!??!) We just find this whole relaxed Cape Town lifestyle a bit of a drag and we’re tired of seeing a mountain every day. Are you kidding?
It was a very hard decision to make but we were sort of forced into it with Jaco commuting to Johannesburg every week now for the past 3 months. We haven’t had much of a family life recently and the kids are growing up right under his nose and he’s not even here to appreciate it. The groot trek begins this weekend when we fly up to of Jhb to start looking for a job for Chris, a house for us, a nanny for Cuan and a school for Milea. I’ve resigned from Frost & Sullivan and finish up after two and a half years. They don’t have an office up there so I’m looking for a new opportunity. There are a few things in the pipeline so please say a prayer that it all comes through. We both decided that we (read ‘I’ here) refuse to pack up the house again so we’re getting movers in to do it for us. Hooray!
Cuan now weighs a VERY healthy 9.2kgs and is giving mom a workout every time I have to hold him for more than 10 minutes. The nurse says he's close to being overweight and has a big head! I replied that he requires a big body to hold up that big head, hence the size of the poor child! At almost 6 months old, he is sitting by himself and everything is going in the mouth. Surely some teeth will follow shortly. And hopefully he'll be crawling and walking in no time to slim down his little rugga body. Watch out Os du Randt!!
To to all our Cape Town friends – we are really sad to be leaving you but happy to give you a place to stay if EVER you decide to come to Jo’burg. To all our Jo’burg friends – we’ll be back in skollie town soon to party up a storm and ride the 94.7 now that we have babysitters (aka granny, grandpa, Greg and Heidi)!
